Can Erbil is a Professor of the Practice of Economics in the Department of Economics at Boston College. He is also currently the Director of Economic Modeling School at EcoMod, the Global Economic Modeling Network. Previously, he worked at the International Business School (IBS), the Department of Economics and the Heller School of Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. Can Erbil specializes in international trade and development economics. In his research he employs data based applied economic modeling tools such as CGE models and integrated modeling platforms. He worked as a consultant to the World Bank and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston on projects related to international trade, regional development, education, health policies and tax reform. He sits on several editorial and advisory boards of journals, as well as EdTech companies. Erbil’s recent research interest focuses on how to teach economics effectively on all domains (including XR environment) and how to incorporate inequality into mainstream teaching of economics. Can Erbil has over 25 years of teaching experience with a wide array of economics courses. He holds multiple teaching awards.
