The outreach season kicked off with a South Asia information session, co-hosted by the Nepal Leadership Academy on Monday, January 31 via Zoom. The speakers included Dr. Pukar Malla, Co-Founder and Executive Coach of NLA, and Meena Sonea, Executive Director of Aspire Institute, as well as Asmita Parajuli, ‘21 alumna from Nepal. That same evening, Aspire co-hosted a session for Latin America with Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. Other sessions have happened with partners like Misale Initiative in Africa — featuring founder, Nani Detti, and alumna Nyengo Barl ‘21 from Kenya — United In Diversity in Indonesia and InvestEd in the Philippines, Science Clubs International in Mexico, and Yuva Unstoppable in India. They closed off the month with a session in Brazil with Legisla Brasil, Ensina Brasil, Vetor Brasil, ismart, and Instituto Four and another session in India with Global Empowerment Network, co-hosted with administrator Vinaya Thamke.

Applications have been open since January 3rd and information sessions about the Aspire Leaders Program for first-gen students around the globe continue to increase excitement. Through support from local partner organizations, the Aspire team is able to provide specialized sessions for prospective students during which they can interact with alumni from their home regions and get a walk-through of the online application with the Aspire team, and ask any questions they have about the program and the application process.

The deadline for the first cycle is approaching soon —March 15, 2022!
